MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 205

Welcome to the 205th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, and first of 2016. The winner will receive an MP3 code good for a free download of any show, courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of the mystery jam clip. Each person gets one guess per day, with the second “day” starting after I post the hint. A hint will be posted on Tuesday if necessary, with the answer to follow on Wednesday. Happy New Year!

Tuesday Update: No hint needed, it's been identified.

Answer: Congrats to now four-time winner @WayIFeel, who by identifying the 7/20/13 Light from Northerly Island, Chicago, wins an MP3 code good for the download of an entire show from LivePhish.com. There seems to have been some confusion about the MJM prize, so let me reiterate that folks can use their winning codes to download any single show from the LivePhish.com archives. Stay tuned for next week's MMMJM, where we'll get both meta- and multi- with our clips.

mcgrupp81 I'll tell you what I like about this MJM choice. I just listened to it and thought maybe it was that Hollywood '13 Hood and then I scrolled down and saw it was the Light from 7/20/13. 44 years after Neil and Buzz walked on the moon. Buzz Light New Year? Makes perfect sense. Heading back to Earth now... what I wanted to say was that when I saw the MJM, I said, let me look if I had ever documented that on my own list of jams. Nope. Then I said, let me look at a list I had gotten off the net back in '13 with the top 35 jams of Summer 2013. The Light wasn't on there. That's part of the beauty of the MJM. It's a revelation for those who weren't aware of that snippet of the show that works and puts a smile on your face while grinding away on a busy Monday.

P.S. Always thought the Piper from that show would have been a good MJM because Page sounds like he is playing Maze at times during the jam. Peace out.

relax_inn Dang it, this is the 1st MJM that I have seen that I was in the audience for...too bad I came in and checked on Tuesday, not Monday haha

hdorne I usually never even try MJM because I'm just not that hardcore, but dangit I was at this show! Very underrated show with an excellent Piper and of course a bonus set.

hdorne Atrocious venue, though. If you're on the "lawn," you may as well be in the lot. If I remember correctly, Phish brought their own back fills so the folks on the lawn could at least hear them. It has amazing potential being downtown on the shore, but it's just a shit show of a venue. Chicagoans are much better served making the short trek to Alpine Valley.
