Review by TheEmu

TheEmu 7/26/91 was an enjoyable show, but not quite up to 4 stars, IMHO. Part of it is I'm not thrilled by most of the '91 horn shows, just because it seems to limit the improv to some extent. Don't get me wrong, I like the horns, and some tunes (Like Suzy or Flat Fee) seem to benefit greatly from them. But after a while, all the horn shows sound much the same to me. Some songs, for example (in this show) Stash and Golgi, don't seem to really fit well with the horns. But I really did enjoy the YEM here, pretty rockin' version and I love the "Don't put the crab in my shoemouth" vocal jam.
