Review by skydiver

skydiver This was my 1st show and 1st Phish taping experience. All the tapers seemed very friendly. The thing about this tapers section was that it was only marked off by a piece of yellow tape. So I had to stand in front of our equipment (I had been taping the Dead for years) 'guarding' it from people stumbling through. Which did happen, fortunately I caught a girl trying to get through by lifting her up and carrying her around the section. One of the reasons i write about this show is that when Phish took the stage Trey started yelling "Tequila". He was a bit away from the mics but clearly audible as well on the DAT. Throughout the 1st set they slipped in and out of 'Tequila' jams and I've not seen that listed on any lists/reviews. The 1st verse of Fee was sung w/o the megaphone then the rest were sung with it. Trey sang one of the verses out of order but they just went around and he laughingly sang it right. The dirt floor in my opinion helped the sound that was echoing off the metal bleachers be absorbed making for an excellent recording. The fine dust in the air also helped the light show. Like lasers through the haze. This being my 1st show I was not familiar with the songs but I came away with 'Run' being my highlight. But by now I am a hooked fan and am familiar with songs to a fault according to my wife!
