gigrant how has this show not been reviewed? so much fun, and TAB's only visit to Wilmington, NC. Trey was in a very fun mood - i've never seen him talk so much from stage. he really liked the venue ("what a nice venue!" if i may quote him...). Covid started thinning out the line-up as this tour went on, so i believe this was the last show with the planned line-up. I think Jennifer was sick after this one and Russ a few days later. i had been hitting TAB shows since 1999 and really enjoyed the various line-ups, but when Tony died i was very depressed. he was the groove master. they added Dez for this tour (and hopefully for all future tours) and he CRUSHED it on the low end. wow, really impressed with his feel. and Trey's vocals were really smooth and well-delivered. you could tell he had worked so hard on them during the Pandemic.

highlights from this show in include Everything's Just Right (great vocals and then a 10 minute jam with Dez laying concrete everywhere), Gotta Jibboo (this song never gets old, does it! Dez was so dirty on the bassline and Ray and the horns colored the air while Trey danced around it all. 15 minutes of magic!), Simple Twist Up Dave (always liked this song, and this version has energy. listen for Trey's builds via delay near the end of the jam.), and I'm About to Run (so much emotion, the song made me sad a bit. first time i ever heard it. amazing stuff).

the acoustic encore was fun and relaxed too. took my wife to her 1st TAB show and she danced the entire time like a old tour veteran. i think she gets it!! if you've never heard a smooth and beautiful TAB show, this one is a great place to start your journey.
